Default Anyone using a Weiand 8004

Anyone using a Weiand 8004 manifold? if so, how does it seem to run? I see lots of Edlebrock stuff but little mention of Weiand with the exception of the Stealth.

Back in the day this was one of the better dual planes, good to 5500 RPM. Very popular with the truck crowd which need good down low grunt. Seemed like popularity dropped off when they were bought out by Holley. Had one myself, on a lifted 4x4 with a punched-out 350 mild duration .480 lift cam. Was a very strong runner.

Hood clearance should be fine compare to the stealth or other action+ manifolds, especially if your still using the Q-Jet and don't need the EGR feature.

Default running it

Seems like a good manifold. Running 650 edlebrock and weiand 8004. Stock [mild] camshaft Hei turbo 400. Gets 18 on the road, but it is no world beater by any means. I think you could step up to a 450 lift cam and expect good results. I'm switching to vortec heads in the near future and I will be getting a performer rpm or peformer air gap. I play-doughed the top of the air cleaner and there is still 1.500 inches of clearance on average with the Weiand and a drop base air cleaner. I'm wondering if the performer rpm air gap vortec will fit when I change my heads.

10 years ago I had one on a 69 Camaro; 327 with mild cam and 600 Holley double-pumper, dual 2 1/4 exhaust with manifolds. With 3.73 gears and a 4-speed it ran 9.20s in the 18th mile if I remember correctly.

I have one on my 383 with a .509/.528 222/230 Crane Hydraulic Roller, RPM Heads, and an Edelbrock 1904. It runs great. Pulls hard to 5800 or so.
