i have another unidentified part mounted to the firewall
does anybody know what this is?
it has 2 wires, purple and orange going to it

Burning Brakes
On a 74 that should be the high speed blower motor relay. Mounted on the HVAC box passenger side. Looks like there should be more wires though. Orange and purple are correct, but should also be a dark blue into that same plug. Then, a single black (ground) on a separate spade next to the plug.
