I'm looking at a '79, Midnight Blue, 34,000mi, slotted rims, detachable front spoiler(Daytona look?), 2nd owner, numbers supposedly match, alarm, new exhaust and breaks, no mods to engine, $12,500.
I'm comparing this against a 4 sp '80 (I like both body styles) who's owner is on the fence about selling. The '80 is mint but hasn't been run in 6 years and therefore needs tires, breaks, exhaust (rusted). I offered him $9000.
What would you do at this point? I've never owned a Vette before and am very unsure about the 6 years of not running on the '80. Should I be? Are these prices fair?
