Default Trim & VIN Tag Problem

I have a 69 vette VIN# 194379S716618 which has a build date Feb 15, 1969

Trim Tag on door jam Has a build date of C18 = March 18

Trim = ZQ4 Paint = 974

I am trying to restore this back to a matching numbers car. Have I hit a roadblock????

C does not mean March

but anyway go look at the tag again

The C and G look a lot alike and G would be Feb 69

It is G 18 . So this is February 18, 1969.

Should my assembly date on the block be Feb 18 also??

No. The engine was assembled in either the Flint or Tonawanda plant and then was taken by rail to St. Louis. Anything up to six months prior to your trim tag date is acceptable under NCRS guidelines.

No it will be before, usually a week or two but could be several months.

974 Monza Red with Black vinyl, nice combo.

Did you get any info off the original block yet?

No I haven't been able to match his travel schedule yet. I want to be patient and not rush the issue
