I am not very happy with Barry Grant either. When I tried to adjust my automatic choke, I discovered that I could not remove any of the three retaining screws holding the element on without twisting them off. I called their support and they told me to send the carb back to them and they would fix it. Would it not have made more sense to send me a new choke housing and the three screws? Obviously not!

For the money I would have thought Demons would be waaay better than they are. sucks we work hard to afford great products that give us the edge. Instead they give us headaches.

Are you talking about the adjuster screw for the float on top of the bowl? If so go to any speed shop or place that sells Holly's and get a replacement gasket. They are nylon not paper. Both BG and Holly use paper gaskets at the begining and it is common to replace with the nylon ones. they are cheap so pick up a few for later.

Before we get into a Demon bashing thread again I will say that my Mighty Demon is the best carb I have ever owned. I did have to do the same for the float bowl screw adjuster but again that was a typical problem among both Holly and BG carbs.

JMHO,
BR

Is there much of a difference between the Mighty Max and the Barry Grant?

when i originally got my demon, both bowls were loose and the mechanical secondaries were in such a bind that they did not work!

Ditch the carbs, switch to TBs or EFI.
