Bernie Doug is running my old set of 4.11 gears. Even with that he cruises at 80 or 90.
With 4.11's 60 is 2200 and 70 is 2500. It jumps 300 rpm per 10 miles per hour.
With 4.11's and .68 overdrive his top gearing is still better then the original 350 and 308 gearing.
1st gear is almost too low with 3.35 x 4.11 or about 13-1 out of the hole. 10-1 is a better 1st gear combination unless you like burning rubber

Norval,
Sorry I missed on that one. The 3:55s were fun with the 3:33 1st gear. A few burnouts aren't bad! With this setup you can have your cake and eat it too! Of course you already know that!

So a car with 3:08 gears and swapping to a T5 would want to change rear gears?

You could without a problem...otherwise it would have a whole lot of top end...

The 3:08s shouldn't be bad at all especially with the 3:35 1st gear T5.

WHOOOOO HOOOOOO!!!!
I found a WC T5 trans at a local boneyard....and get this$300.00!!!!
I am very happy.
I am having a problem finding a yolk. I have been trying to find the correct one from a typical t 350 but I have yet to find one to fit. Am I looking for the wrong part or what?
The plate is being fabed as I type and should be ready in a week.
And I have a good lead on a bellhousing but it doesn't come with the fork and that worries me. I don't want to get caught up in the "sorry but we can't sell the fork without the bellhousing" thing.
Oh well one step at a time...
I'll be in touch as things develop.. and if anyone has any ideas about the yolk problem(maybe I misread something)please let me know.
Thanks again,

PM Bernie. I thought that any TH350 yoke would fit but I think there were a few spline count differences depending on what transmission you used. Great score on the $300 T5.

Default Drive Shaft

Is there a drive shaft from a different make or model car that could be used instead of shortening the original driveshaft? I'm tempted to keep the four speed and orignal drive shaft in case I need/want to go back to original?

The 208 is a FORD transmission with a 28 Spline output shaft. The Ebay auction is for a GM piece. They will not work.

Get a 28 spline yoke from a C4 Ford Auto, or a Spicer Part # 2-3-4871X

There are no off the shelf Vette style yokes with removable caps for the 28 spline yoke.

I tried searching that part number on the Dana Spicer site and couldn't find it. Do you have any links?
