Alarm went off for the first time. Need advice.
My alarm went off for the first time. I locked the driver's door with the key. When I returned, I unlocked the door with the drivers key. The alarm went off. I relocked the door a couple of times with the driver's key. This fixed it. I've not had it happen again, for a week or so. Is this common? Is there a common wear item within the door I should take a look at? Thanks, in advance, for the help.

When you unlock the door with your key, only turn the key to the right to unlock. If you turn the key to the left and then to the right, once you open the door the alarm will sound.
Hope this helps.

Also, if you turn it too far past center after unlocking it, it re-arms the alarm. Been there, done that.

The car alarm is turned on by locking the drivers door with the key from the outside.
When I bought mine the alarm would always go off when I locked from the outside.
I tracked it down to the pins that held the back of the t-tops in place. Where they lock into the car there are switches for the alarm. If the pins for the t-tops don't depress them, then the alarm thinks there is an "open" point and sounds as soon as you arm it.
The pins can be extended by turning them out with a flat screwdriver.
DO NOT them out too far our you will not be able to get the t-tops off -- ask me how I know that one.
