I plan on removing my canister while I'm doing a cam change. I am going to put an inline fuel filter in the end of the fuel vent line and leave it. You do yours and I'll do mine. In a couple of weeks we should know if either, or both plans work. :D

Is that the thing that's down below the washer fluid bottle?
I was just noticing on mine that it's hooked up to absolutely nothing.
The hoses don't run to anywhere...they just dangle all in that area...makes it messier.

That is one of the few emission controls that does not cost you any HP. It is totaly passive and all it does is collect gas fumes. Keeping it intact will help the air and not affect your engine.

You still need to vent the gas tank, so if you remove the cannister (and I really don't see the need to do this) where are you going to connect the vent hose? Or are you going to let it dangle under the frame?
