72 Owners: How Many Horns Does Your Car Have?

Dunno if my '72 vert here is early or late, and sure it was a show car early on in life...but the underhoods were totally stock as a stove, OEM brass rad, v belt drives, OEM engine, muncie, all that crap, and the old original harness, which I tore into replacing headlight connectors some years ago....and the harness was original also....or a damn good copy, but too old and stiff in the covering to be fresher than '72 by much....
it had two horns, and I added a 3rd....I have a manual also, but am too lazy to look it up,
AT SOME point along in there, Nader demanded there be two horns for all cars.....maybe it was '72, I forget.....
I do know my Pontiacs ALL had 2 horns, lemans, gp, Bonne, Catalina....

If the thinking is, that late 72's had two horns, Chevy quickly returned to one horn in 73. I have two 73's both with one horn and one of my cars was built in early Sept, 1972,..VIN number xxx401182 (1182nd Vette built of 30,464 in 73). FWIW

To interject.....I have original wire harness on my '72 and has 1 green wire...how can I tell if that wire is 'hot' or 'live'? Car did not have a horn when I got it. I know there is something missing in my steering wheel but, I would still like to know that if I go to the trouble of fixing the steering wheel guts for the horn, that the green wire will work. Thanks

Very late build, July 72, one of last 300 produced only has one horn. Makes you wonder if a TSB was issued telling dealers to add one only if the car was in for a warranty issue. Probably a stretch. Or only if there was a complaint by the original owner.

There will be 1 green wire in the wire harness whether it came with 1 or 2 horns. Dual horns came with a jumper wire that went from the 1st horn to the other.
