Default Exhaust Cut Outs

I find my chambered pipes to be a little loud for early morning or late night use in the neighbourhood. The neighbours haven't complained yet but pretty soon they will...

I would like to be able to use open pipes so I am thinking of installing mufflers and add cut outs.

Anyone use Mr. Gasket cable driven (not electric) ones? http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Do they actually open/close the valve completely?

Are there any other ones bigger than 2" OD?

What's the best location to install them? Right after the headers or closer to the rear of the car?

I seen these over the years and I've seen guys have problems getting them completely shut, especially after they age some and get carbon build up.

One of my friends has the newer electronic version on his late model Camero and it works flawlessly. They are expensive, but I think the Mr. Gasket one might end up with an exhaust leak. At least that's my experience. Maybe some one will chime in with some good experiences with this type of cut-out.
