Wiper motor guru's...step in.
I have 4 wiper motors, 2 with the plug in front of the motor and 2 with the plug beside the motor. For my 72 I believe the correct motor is the one with the plug right in front of the motor. Correct me if I'm wrong. Anyhow, for testing, to make sure the motor works before I clean it all up, how do I test it to make sure it works. I've put power to all the plugs in all combinations and both motors I've tried will not move. What am I missing, is there a ground or 12v jumper somewhere that I need. I have numerous wiring diagrams thats don't help at all. Thanks.

Above is correct but for a '72 you have to ALSO energise the red wire out of the motor end shell there.....it's heavy red with white stripe as I recall....the '68-72 have the wiper door, and so needed that red wire to kill the motor when the door was not ALL the way raised/up....
that is what finally allowed the motor to take off and blades to move....
Brag time....I put in a Linear motor for actuator, and intermittant wipers of my own design on my '72, retaining the door, obviously....

You will also need to ground the case as well as power up the red wire. Here is a link that will help you.
