New Exhaust/..Pypes?

New Exhaust/..Pypes?
Now that the new 427 sb is installed (pics later, when all excessories are hooked up), this is a good time to update the exhaust. Decided on a 2 1/2" mandrell bent system from the headers back.
Those with the Pypes system,... good fit as advertised? (Summit is out of them until mid May, you guys must have bought them up). Magnaflow's system is due to sell in early May and is priced higher. I like Magna's mufflers better and am waiting to see that system as well.
Summit also will sell the Pypes "pipes" only and you can substitute the muffler of your choice....BTW, which size fits better in a '69, the 5 x 8" or 4 x 9" ovals?

The first 2 have great info and pics from L82Shark and mzmgb were very informative and helpful for my install (last thread). Also use the search for Pypes in the title. Once installed, they do look and sound great.
All these were on '78s, so can't talk to your '69 question.

Thanks for the info threads.....I will eyeball the system closely before buying it or deciding on Magnaflow's new system.
One observation, though....Corvettes are symetrical underneath; why do many exhaust makers insist on making the right side pipes bending and fitting differently (and worse fitting) than the left?
Also, I have the TH400 trans; hard to clear the pan without blocking it......I'll have to fab the piece between the headers and the crossmember.
