Default A/C Vent Question

My A/C is blowing out the heater vents. I checked the back of the A/C controller, and all of the vacuum lines are hooked up. Which damper controls were the air blows. I can't seem to find a good drawing in the manual.

It looks like I need to trace down the tan hose. Maybe 1st I should unplug the main connector to make sure I have vacuum to that point.

Thanks!

Looks like I'm wrong. I now think its the blue hose. But how the hell am I supposed to get to it without removing the center console.

Does anyone out there have there dash out where I can get a picture?

If your system is set to "Bi-level", you should be getting cold air out of the upper and lower outlets.

I tried all of the settings today. Air only comes out of the bottom vents.
I'm trying to fiqure out how to get to the actuator behind the radio, without removing parts of the dash.

I have my dash out replacing it. I have rebuilt all of the ac boxes and hoses while I got it out. It looks like it would be a major PITA to do it with the dash in. You might get away with removing the center gauge bezel and getting to it.

Thanks for the reply,

Do you no which actuator controls air to the AC. I think it would be the one on the middle left.

Sorry guy, I am at work this week and it will be Friday before I can confirm (look at the car) but I believe the actuator that opens the valve so air can get to the upper vents is the one that is behind the left side of the heater box, against the firewall, it is hidden quite well. I also believe you are correct in looking for the tan line. I will check on Friday if you havent figured it out by then.

I found the problem after pulling out half the dash. It was my vacuum valve on the control switch. The button that holds the 2 parts together came out not holding the 2 pieces together. This allowed the vacuum to escape, doing nothing.

Thanks
