Oil pan for 77 vette.. engine builders asking a question...
The guy that's buiding my engines want's to know if it uses a "normal" oil pan.
or what Oil pan it does indeed use..
It's a 77 base (l48) sbc (not that there we're any BB's hehehe

It does not use a "Normal" SBC pan. Must be a Corvette pan. The "Normal" pan has a steep slope from the the front main to the sump and will not clear. The Corvette pan is more level. Hth.

The corvette pan is 7 1/4" deep and the sump is also shorter than some other SB pans. It requires a short pickup.
It was not exclusive to Corvettes.
I have a brand new one that was on an engine for display only purposes for about a week. 35 bucks plus shipping if you want.
