Patriot tight tuck. Will I have clearance issues?
I need some headers because my 73 currently has odd ones on it and one is hard up against the floor I want them to be ceramic coated, so I don't want to have to make any 'clearance bumps' to make them fit. Searching through this forum, there was some reference to having to clearance a few spots with some headers so I thought I'd just check first. Ceramic coating is rather expensive over here.
Any help would be great.

Forget the ceramic coated ones, get the stainless ones..no coating flaking EVER. They're chinese too, just like patriot. You can probably get them from a US manuf. too but not for 120$

I'd prefer ceramic just to help with heat issues. Less heat under the bonnet the better.
Thanks Binnie. I might order a set and throw them on the car. At least I can start it again then.

Will those headers work with std clutch linkage?
I bought some patriot headers and modified them for an O2 sensor before checking the clutch linkage area.....I then had to make ugly mess out of the headers just to get the clutch linkage to fit and work.

I bought the ceramic coated ones off Ebay about 3-4 years ago. I think they are the same as the Patriots (they look identical). The only fitment problem was the driver's side hit the motor mount on my '81. I had to take a heavy hammer and "massage" it a bit in one spot. I was sure that I was damaging the ceramic coating, but I took them off over a year later and they still looked perfect, no rust! Now, after all these years, they are still fine. For under $150, I couldn't be happier. God bless, Sensei

I just put a set on a few weeks ago along with the dual system from corvette central. I had to take off the alt & 2 spark plugs & they bolted right up without any scratches. I went with stainless band clamps from Jeg's so I will be able to take it apart in the future if need be. One clamp that went on the front of the crossmember on the driver's side had to be slightly modified to fit.

Worked out well. Only about a 2 beer project from beginning to end.
I love the Magnaflows.

The headers pictured are the Patriot tight tuck's from the jegs site.
My car is an auto, so no worries with clutch linkages, only motor mounts. Should neaten up under the hood too.

On, my '77 I had to make a spacer to put under the bracket as the header flange is much thinner than the original manifold. There was plenty of clearance for the compressor.
