In the book How to rebuild your Small-Block CHEVY' by David Vizard,
For the intake: 'Tighten the bolts down to 20 lbs-ft'.
For the Carb' & Dist': 'Tighten them progressively. Do not over-tighten'.

There is a sequence for tightening the bolts.
