Default finally got to drive the car this year (lots of pics)

im going to keep this nice and short, what started as me wanting to replace a few bushings turned into this. the pics tell the story better then i can. (not all of these are of the completed project, if you couldnt tell with a few parts missing here and there.)

no before or 100% finished pics of the interior yet, the seats are just sitting in there and the the pieces are still missing.

and all the new toys for the interior.
(not pictured is my Alpine CDA-9815 and C5 seats)

so, thats what ive been working on for the last 4 months or so.

i took it for a quick spin up and down my drive way (10mph or so tops) and the ride quality was greatly improved. no comparison really. its already back up on jack stands though. ive still gotta install the new front shocks, coils, swaybar, and repack the wheel bearings. had those suckers torn down and degreased in under 10 mins. soooo easy compared to the rears.

not half bad for some 22 year old punk with minimal mechanical skills if you ask me. ... probably wouldnt have been half done by now if it wasnt for quite abit of help from my dad.

I think you did a fine job, and work done on your own is far more valuable than what you can pay for. Good work.

Great job! I bet getting that rear end back in the car provided a real sense of accomplishment!

to be honest, it was completely nerve wracking. i kept second guessing if i did everything right, nothing got left out, torque values where all right, so on and so forth. but for that first drive up and down the drive way (a terribly bumpy one i might add) and the thing holding together, man was that nice.

i do apologize right off about the paint on the car, its 25 some years old and was stored in a damp garage shortly after it was painted. the UV rays and elements have absolutely played hell with it over the last couple years because of that.

Nice work. One question - In the 2 pics taken behind the car showing the rear suspension, where are your jackstands located? They should be under the frame but it doesn't look like it to me.

Guess there's no need to tell you to be careful with those coil springs. Those things can jump out and bite you without the right spring compressors.
