I had the same quiet muffler inserts as you. I purchased them because many of the tracks I would time trial the car had noise limits. They were the pits. They built up so much back pressure that the header and collector would separate.
I was confronted with the same options as you: Sweet thunder, Spiral inserts or Max Flo. Ideally I would love to have purchased all three, listened to them and run the car on a dyno to check and see how the HP varied.
After reading a post with dyno spec, I purchased the Max Flo. They are load and if I see a police car, I respect the man by depressing the clutch. However, the cars throttle response is better. Since this isn’t my daily driver, the noise isn’t too much of and issue for me. The increase in HP and the fact that I no longer have to keep re-attaching my sidepipes were my priories. Use the search feature and you’ll pull a ton of posts on this.

I bought the Hooker Max Flows.
I have to say, they are louder than I expected.
Not bad for driving around town, but too much for the highway.
I think I'm going to try... 2" bore ones from sweet thunder.
