Default 80 3.07 differential cross pin yoke wear spots

Just picked up a 20K mile, 1980 3.07 assembled rear diff (no batwing) with no yokes installed, no snap rings on the cross pin. I was looking at the cross pin and I noticed 2 circular wear marks on the pin from the side yokes banging onto it.

How common is this wear and should this pin be replaced if there is ANY wear. Otherwise everything appears normal and decent.

Appreciate any replies.
Best Regards, Brent.

Just judging from the looks of it, I would replace it. Once you get the stub axels in it check the endplay. You will need to look up the specs, but I think it's .030" max, with the "ideal" being much less than that. .030" translates into alot of camber.

This 80-82 Cross Shaft is VERY hard to locate. I can find all kinds of Dana 44 shafts, but nothing that looks like this one with 2 spring clip grooves.

Anyone know where these can be purchased?

If Mike doesn't have them. Have one turned and hardened to 58-60 rockwell. Common problem.
