Default Edelbrock or Weiand Intake

I pretty much decided on an Edelbrock Performer intake in polished finish around $225 then I see the Weiand Action Plus in the polished finish for about $159. Is there a difference in the two? Just the price or in performance?
I have to go with the Performer because of clearance issues, dont know about the Weiand.

I really like Weiand for some applications and Edelbrock for others. In your case, stick with the Edelbrock. I have a Weiand on my current engine that flows a lot better than almost any other low rise manifold. They both have their pluses.

DB-

Are you using the Weiand Street Warrior #8125 intake?

I'm taking off my Edelbrock Performer RPM due to clearance issues with my stock base car hood. I'm looking at replacing it with the Street Warrior. I hate to do this since it is brand new and the 383 runs really good. But, I can't keep on doing the redneck test drives. I need a hood.

Actually I have a polished X-CELerator. Looking again I don't think it's a true low rise but it's not a very tall manifold.

I know some of the folks that were involved in the Street Warrior development. It was designed to target the Edelbrock Air Gap and does an excellent job. It's tough to beat the Edelbock...it's a good piece....but they spent a LOT of time evening out cylinder to cylinder distribution with the Weiand. The tests I saw were impressive. I wouldn't be scared of it at all.

is it as simple as that?, does the type of camshaft installed not affect the intake used?

Do you want a 6 page dissertation of the pros and cons of both? Not gonna happen.

Read the OP's opening comment, not much to go on. So I'd say yes, it's that simple, unless more information is given. Have some of that

You should think of getting off that island sometime. The rest of the world has fun. You should try it too.
