Default Which vacuum port for vacuum advance?

On a Quadrajet, which port should be used for the vacuum advance source? Is it the one right above the right hand (facing from front) above the idle screw? Help please!

I have 69/427. The Assembly manual shows the vacuum advance hose at the front of the carb. The small one. The large one is for the PCV hose. If you have A/C the the vacuum fitting on the carb gets plugged and the hose goes to the three way fitting in the manifold behind the carb. :D

chadman -
Run your distributor vac advance off the vacuum port that is located on the front of the fuel bowl, driver's side, above the idle mixture screw. This is ported vacuum (no vacuum at idle), and will give you a very nice idle with excellent throttle response and "feel" at cruise. Be sure to suck on your vacuum hose to test the vac advance unit - most old ones are ruptured and leaking...
