question:would a true LT1 have power brakes
I was looking on craigs list a car was f/s said to be a lt1 but it had power brakes, I know the big-blocks didn't have power brakes,I just assume a solid-lift small-block wouldn't have them.I'm just getting started and have the bug really bad,but I want to get as much education as I can before I pull the trigger on a C-3, so I'll be picking your brains about everything. Hopeyou don't mind.
thanks Chad

Of course it could have power brakes...it was an option on all models. Whether or not power brakes might have been part of the LT-1 package I don't know, but it was at least an option. Power brakes came on my 427/435 big block as an option, and that has solid lifters.

most likly you are referring to 64-65 365 hp or 70Lt-1s dont have power steering with the big 6 quart oil pan the cylinder did not fit. power brakes was an option on all cars

Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I want to know what to look for. I'm just starting the search for a chrome bumper and I want to know what I'm looking at.

Another school of thought is that they didn't have power steering (or a/c) was because the high revving engine would throw the belts.
