I'm thinking of modifying the power bulge in the base model 350 hood to give a little more clearance say 1" over the air cleaner. Has anyone done this? Not really interested in going as far as an L88 style hood or add on scoop, the other option is I guess is the big block hood but to land one here is around $1600.00 I like the slim profile of the base cars especially when you look at them from a distance but I need to come up with a compromise.

I have a L88 hood which has plenty of room-but was looking for something different. I got a hold of a small block hood to modify-

I'm going to mimic the C2 65-66 big block hood- as I just needed a couple of inches in heigth-

I found a reduced size L88 style scoop available from Unlimited Products in CA I like the look of, has anyone fitted one of these?
