Hi, Does anyone know if you can change the bushings for the mechcanical advance in a MSD Street Fighter HEI ? I know you can on there next model up , but the MSD tech line said its available but he did not sound confident. There web site does not show the Bushings as replaceable on the street fighter. I need more mechanical advance than I'm getting with the stock setup. And springs will not help. the weights are maxing out at 16 degrees.
i dont know if the street fighter is the same as a pro billet, but the pro billet does have an infinite number of settings you can tailor for curves . i would think they are the same but i dont know.....i will try to do some research.....
Thanks Frank, I spoke to the MSD tech line and didn't get a confident answer. Looking at their wed site it does not show the adjustable bushings as a option for the street fighter, but the MSD tech suggested that they are available??
ok here we go...as far as i can tell this is their replacement for an hei...it is called their budget dizzy with the right gear and an adj. vac can.....i cannot tell if the bushings are replaceable...look under the rotor for a small nut under the bushing...if not there you may be able to get the advance you want by changing the springs on the weights..ill bet the same springs are used on the pro models ...just buy the spring and bushing kit for the pro billet model ...it will come with bushings that you may or may not be able to use but the springs will be color coded and it will include a chart for tuning the curve and total advance......i hope!!..good luck.....
