I'm ready to order new mufflers but not sure about something.
If my system is going to be all 2.5 inch pipe, should the muffler connection also be exactly 2.5 or should it be a bit bigger at 3.0 so the 2.5 slips in or use some kind of transition fitting at the welded connection?
Maybe either size could be used and the shop can figure out how to connect without restricting anything? THX

I have 3.5 in and out mufflers hooked on my 3 inch pipes. It makes for very little back pressure
Pipes are 'OD' outside diameter and mufflers are 'ID' inside diameter...therefore a 2 in tail or exhaust pipe with fit inside a 2 in muffler. Dont mix sizes on a system, they will be wrong unless specifically built that way or with a custom built system from a muffler shop that could be any size.
