Tranny Cooler Location - Additional Heat Problem?
My blown 468 big block has been running hot and after reading a few threads on heating problems and I question if I put my tranny cooler in the wrong spot? Right now it is mounted on the U-Shaped nose support in front of the radiator. It has a puller fan and my initial thought was it would be a good place to mount it so it rec'd fresh air from the front and it fit nicely in there too.
But now I've ran my car and I think it may be pulling air and then the hot air is going directly into the center of my radiatior...I also think it is blocking my radiatior from getting significant air flow on highway runs....we all know there isn't much room for air to come in through the grills on a 68 vette anyways.
So..do any of you think this is ADDING to the heating problem and if so..any suggestions on where to mount the tranny cooler on a 68 vette? There's not many places I can think of...
Thanks in advance for the replies.
Jeff
