Default Fixing dyed leather seats, now rough feeling

I dyed my black leather seats this weekend. The seats were perfect except my t tops leaked and one seat was stained a whitish color. I prepped the seats, and everything was good. I used the black corvette america dye in the aeresol can. The dye job looks great, but it feels like it needs a light sanding. I should have ordered a quart of dye and used my spray gun, but too late now. I am thinking of using either 0000 steel wool with a soapy mixture or just a really fine sandpaper (300 or above) to just try and get a smoother finish. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks!
