Hey guys,

I want to order a complete hydroboost kit; but Hydratech's website does not have a link for a C3. And there is not a phone number on the site.

Does anyone have a number for them? Does VB and P sell these? Their site is down too!

I would not mind having a better MC; like a Wilwood if it helps. Any opinions? I do want to fit an adjustable brake bias vlv(wilwood unit); where should this go and should I have the check vlv (the thing that GM calls a proportioning vlv) in the system removed?

Any pics and comments would really help. A shop is doing this for me as I am out of town for a while ....

Which Wilwood MC is correct for my application? I have seen a few pics on here with them fitted. They look nice.

Be wary of installing an adjustable brake proportioning valve and altering the front/rear bias unless you REALLY know what you're doing.

The C3 came front biased from the factory and the brake bias valves you can buy only reduce the amount of rear braking. This shifts the bias even more to the front. So unless you have aftermarket calipers, I wouldn't bother with a bias valve.

I have Corvette Engineering's Wilwood calipers; dyanlites. I run 235/50/16's up front and 255/50/16's out back. I have had the rears lock up before the fronts. ...... .... so unless i am wrong there is already a "brake bias" issue for me to sort out? What do you reckon?

With the size of the tires we run, the grip with modern rubber and better brakes ... these cars aren't exactly stock any longer.

I agree, you have an issue. Sounds like an adjustable proportioning valve would be of some benefit to you.

I can also recommend the hydroboost setup.
I bought my kit a few years ago directly from Hydratech.

Consider upgrading your power steering pump.
I have a stock vette saginaw pump and sometimes it struggles especially when turning at slow speeds with or without the brake pedal engaged. Depending on your engine & exhaust setup you want to keep the power steering fluid as cool as possible. I ran my lines as far away from the headers as possible but I made custom SS teflon lines. Rubber will not do on the pressure side in this setup.
If you're going racing you would also benefit from a remote resolvoir for your power steering pump.
I also run the Red Line hi temp power steering racing fluid.

Binnie, what is the size difference b/w the Wilwood MC and a stock vette MC? Is the Wilwood that much smaller?

There are some new cars that come from the factory with a decent LS power steering pump and remote plastic reservoir that you could probably snag at a salvage yard. Thought I remember seeing this on Power Block recently or one of those other shows. I'm sure someone out there has mounting braket adapters already.

I think these krc pumps would be ideal with their remote reservoir that can be mounted just about anywhere away from the heat. Once I'm able to save up the funds I'm going with one of their kits.

There are many manufacturers of aftermarket power steering pumps I just like the KRC ones.
Also, when i say race i mean autox, obviously not 1/4 as I doubt you'll be installing anything but manual brakes on a 1/4 dedicated track car.

This Wilwood master cylinder is a direct replacement for the stock one. The bore is 1 1/8, reservoir capacity is almost identical and the brake line geometry is the same. A thing about it is that it is less than half the weight of the OEM and is a pleasure to bleed.

Believe the Wilwood MC is 260-8556P (1.12" bore)

I have the MC and am waiting on the kit. Hope to have step by step pics when it comes.

Interesting. So no power steering pump to power this puppy, just the electric accumulator. Takes up less room under the hood too.
