1982 Collectors edition info needed
A very good friend of mine is headed to look at an all original low mileage 1982 Collectors edition Corvette. Looking to converse with someone that is very knowledgeable on these cars. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I'm not the expert your looking for but I will say that 82's are very cool looking to me and seem to be one of the mid/lower priced years. From the post in here it seems that crossfire is not popular? I guess like all of them, frame/birdcage rust is the biggest concern... good luck, post pics

Check the rear hatch weather stripping. Make sure it's not been leaking.
If it's paint's starting to go south, the graphics are expensive to replace and hard to find.
Other than that, I'd love to have an '82 CE.

Haaaa, yeah my weather stripping on the back could probably be replaced. It whistles at high speeds and leaks when I wash it. I need to tighten the back window down.
The CFI engine is about to come out and be replaced with a real engine.
Other than that, look for rust, eyeball the frame, check for leaks at the trans and rearend. It it leaks oil, thats pretty normal for a car that old.
Oh yeah, test drive it..... : )
Good luck
