Default How Can I make My Anti Theft Alarm Activate ?

I've never heard it work. How do I make it go off on purpose, just to hear it...The fuse is good....I just can't make it work.

I've had bad alarm horns on 3 Vettes that I've worked on over the years. One of them was my 25 mile Pace Car. Go figure.
Listen at the console by the ash tray for a slight clicking if you trigger it and don't hear the horn.

Pull the horn, the one on the firewall in the driver side fender.
(be prepared to carve up your arm and hand)
Bench test it.

When locking the dr. door w/ key turn all the way. If not going off when door is opened, you can then open hood & tap on the alarm horn which may get it going. This can get horns going.

My alarm has always worked.

The horn works......The alarm system does not....Here's the deal.
With the orange wire connected, and the other wire disconnected from the firewall and bracket, I touched the bracket to the hood latch (ground). The horn beeped as it was designed to....... OK, so I thought it was the other wire, and bracket having a bad ground, so I cleaned everything up, put it all back, tested the alarm, and NOTHING....Mike, you weren't kidding about hacking up my arm
1) The relay clicks on and off
2)The orange is hot
3)The horn beeps
QUESTIONS:
1) Should I have done an actual bench test , or was what I did sufficient ?
2)If so, What now ?

http://www.corvetteforum.net/c3/tune.../index24.shtml
anti theft relay may not be grounding the horn through itself, the diode prevents it from grounding through the switches.
find the light blue wire off the flasher and ground it, horn should blow then.

Replaced the flasher, same result Roger.
Speedreed said to ground the light blue wire......To what ? They both run from the flasher into a bundle of wires.......
One thing that I find odd though is that the relay is sitting on the tunnel, held down by one screw , which is not really tight. No wires , other than the plug into it are connected to it....There are 2 screw holes on the relay...Should there maybe be a ground there?...Like on the antenna relay ?.....I'm just guessing now....

You can ground the blue or the yellow to see if the horn will blow.

The black wire going to the relay is the relays ground.

Hey Jeff did you stop to eat lunch ?
Pull the 2 wire connector off the flasher and ground the yellow wire and see if the horn blows. That will tell us the yellow is not cut going to the horn ground.

No lunch but a Bacardi and Coke.........I ran a jumper from the yellow on the firewall to the hood latch and the horn works but I can't turn it off using the door key...The door key does work though, because when I activate the alarm via the key and push the hood switch, the relay clicks, on and off....I'd rather be shredding my arm raw right now than watching the Buffalo Bills....Man they look hideous !.........I'm going back in to ground the yellow at the flasher.....

The horn works after grounding the yellow at the fuse....I'm stumped.

Now with everything connected ground the lt blue and dark blue wire at the relay and see if the horn will sound and cycle.
