77 vette cluncking and grinding
i `have a horrible noise coming from right rear especially in reverse.Just added GM oil 2 bottles and ADDITIVE 1[drained old oil first!]New UJ's on rear,could it be the wheel bearing?or something worse! :smash:

could be bad bearings or a problem with the new u-joints. I would disconnect the 1/2 shaft and check both by sight and feel.

Logic says...check what you just did. If you hear noises from the area of a U-joint you just replaced...I would check those first. Maybe on is mis aligned or something like that.

One more possible cause on fresh U-Joints can be that you lost a needle inside the cap during installation.
This will lead to detoriation of all other needles in the Cap and you will have a very bad noise under load changes.
