I have heard of guys using vice grips too. It serves the purpose just like a vice, but a little easier to get in place by yourself, while you are laying on the ground trying to tighten everything up. Teeth on the vice grips is probably not too good for the new spring however.

I got my shocks and spring on tonite all went well, it does seem softer when push on the backend. I still need to wrap the tail pipes under the spring so it does not get hot and then set the ride height about 1in lower.
I did not use vise grips on the new spring, it has a metal flange on it to lift with a floor jack.
