All Can-Am race car video
This is Laguna Seca 2008. We have three cars in this race. The problem is that I really have very few pictures or movies because I'm working at all these races.
This is allot of HP!

Thanks for the video I enjoyed it greatly. This link I have is by far the best video of raw horsepower I have found in my Can Am searches. Do you happen to know who this is? Is there a time when you are near Pennsylvania?

Very cool videos. Both of them make me want to get out and go watch one of these races. Does this type of racing get TV coverage?

BJ - here on the forum stopped by and said hello last year.
I would dig for Monterrey Historic races on Speed, Speed Vision, and ESPN. I've been at home 2-3 weeks after an event and it is on TV

Too Man, that stuff makes me want to put my Crower/McKay injector to good use.
Don't suppose you saw my former T332C Schkee while you were there...

The problem was those big block cars had so much TQ that they had to build big beefy trans axles and drive train. We have one of those McLarens. They had reliability and weight problems and could not get the lap times.
Porsche also had transmission failures that led to the death of the driver when the tranny blew while shifting at 180+ mph at Le' Mans. When cars can go 240 mph during a race they turn into death machines.

I'm happy they are keeping these cars alive.
I remember when the turbo Porches came in 936's ? Just from memory

That's a great site. Here's another with much vintage info...

So, what exactly happened to the Shadow, anyway?

I love those cars. When I was a kid, I never saw the Chaparals, McClarens, and Porsches in person, but I read all I could about them. Seeing them race at Laguna Seca each year during the Monterey Historics is a high point every year. Unfortunately, I won't make it to the Monterey Historics this year. I'll be in San Antonio for my Mom's 80th birthday. Seeing George is a cool treat too. I wish I had his job.

The last race of the year 2009 at Infinion race track the the big block blew some rods out the side of the aluminum block. dry sumps have about three gallons of oil which sprays on the headers.
The fire system only knocked the fire down for an instance. As a racer you are better off driving to the fire truck than waiting for it to get a clear track and come to you.
That is where the good fire suit comes into play!

Thanks for bringing this to the front. Cool video. I have loved the Can-am racers since I first saw the McLaren M8F's at Laguna Seca in 1970 driven by Denny Hulme and Peter Revson. They will always be the most awesome cars in my memory. Got to see them in person again at the Montery Historics a couple of years ago, still a favorite. That was the days of wooden ships and iron men.
