Scan Pic Of My Vette
Hi,
Is anyone here good with computers ? I wanted to scan a pic of my vette on the computer but my scanner doesnt work. its connected to my computer and my printer is connected to the scanner. everything is connected ive already checked and i installed the program. Im running Windows XP could that be the problem? :confused: I dont know but its making me MAD :mad

check the box , see if the software drivers are compliant with windows xp.
I don't have XP so I don't know how it works.

I have winxp, and my scanner works fine. I have the scanner hooked directly to the computer, and my printer going through the scanner. I've never had any problems with it, so I don't know what could be going on with yours? :confused:

LOL, thanx i guess it would help if it was windows XP compatible but its not . hmmmm now im clueless :eek:

If it's not windows XP compatible it won't work. no way around it.
Well maybe one way, goto the manufacturers web site and see if theres new drivers that are XP compatible, If not you're going to have to return it and get one that is compatible.

Check the Windows website for updated drivers as well as the manufacturers site. If this is an older scanner uninstall the drivers and then hook up the scanner directly to the parrallel port on the machine, then see if plug n' pray picks up the new hardware, if it doesn't, try reinstalling the drivers from the windows driver list manually do NOT use the install disks right away. If you find your scanner in the list of windows drivers go ahead and install and test. If no drivers are found then click "Have Disk" and install using the driver installation disk you received with the scanner.
Sometimes you just have to force windows to recognize hardware. This usually works, unless the thing you are trying to install is from some no-name company somewhere that is out of business. What is the make and model of the scanner by the way? That would help.
