I've been using my old Qjet throttle cable bracket on my Holley for years now. To make it work, I had to bend it and use a custom bracket(coat hanger) :D to keep it from moving forward. In order to finally do the job right, I ordered the Lokar cable and bracket. It was a very simple install. The cable and cable housing must be cut to the right length, but it is actually very easy. The design gives you the ablility to make very easy and precise adjustments of the thottle cable. The throttle cable bracket uses a set screw that locks the bracket against the side of the carb's base plate to keep the bracket from creeping forward. I know several of you wanted to see how it looks, so here are some pics.
Very neat install. What was the length of cable that you bougth from them? Was is difficult to hook up the Lokar to the accelerator pedel? Could you post the part numbers that you used? Thanks for your help.
Thanks Len:cheers: The pedal was just as easy. When you get it, there is a piece with a cleavis pin that slips on from the other end that is removable. It has a ball crimped onto the end of the cable just like the factory cable. The ball is just a bit smaller and would have worked fine with the plastic bushing that is pressed into the hole in the stock pedal, but I just left the clevis pin piece on there since it will never slip through with that there. Once you see it, you will see what I'm talking about. Other than cutting the cable and cable housing, there is not other modification needed. Oh yeah, you will alos need a couple of washers where it mounts at the firewall. The existing hole is a little too big, so I used some large washers that I had laying around for this.
bigvette1, The cable comes as a 24" piece. You will only need roughly half of that. This is easily cut with a pair of dykes. The housing is cut to length with a hacksaw. Just wrap tape around the place you need to cut and start cutting. Then just peel the tape off and you have a very clean cut. Instructions come with the cable and tell you exactly how to do it. I didn't bother reading that until I was done(as usuall :D ) and it still turned out good. The P/N for the SS cable is LOK-TC-1000HT. You can also get the cable housing in black for a more "factory" look( LOK-TC-1000U). The bracket is LOK-SRK-4000. I know that Summit also sells a black bracket too, but I can't find the part number. The bracket is not listed when you browse the Summit web site, but if you enter the P/N in the search window on their web site, it will be there.
Nice  I'm using the same on my Edelbrock. One thing I found was the cable mounting to carb bracket would slip after a while. I half mooned the end of the bracket against another stud in the inside hole to lock the bracket from shifting forward with the cable spring pressure.

Yeah, I see what your saying. I tried to see if it would slip at all by pulling on it, but it feels pretty solid for now. Unfortunately, my Holley does not have the dual hole patterns like the Edelbrock's and Carter's do. If all else fails , I'll make a custom washer that is stepped to fill in the rest of the slot........or better yet, fill in that end of the oblong slot with a little weld. That should keep it from moving outward and allow the set screw in the side to secure it perfectly.
