Can anyone explain this ground wire from intake manifold to rear frame? (see picture)

Any possibility that the wire was there to eliminate any anodic corrosion of the aluminum intake manifold (mounted to iron parts)?

7T1vette; We used to install corrosion protection on steel frames & piping, I suppose they have the knowledge of Aluminium Corrosion, into today science Surely there are people on this forum who knows about it??? Or can tell us what the wire is for! ( mds3013 ) that is a great picture. Have a great day. Gene

My Smeding 383 is grounded on both sides of the block, per the mfgr's recommendations, because of the aluminum heads. Maybe this is someone's idea of the same thing?

As I was recently rebuilding my engine and trans, and knowing how important good grounds are on a fiberglass car, I ran a 4 gauge wire from the end of the battery ground, on the frame to the bell housing on the trans/motor. I ran a 4 gauge wire from that to the head above it. I also ran another on the other side of the bell housing to the other head. As mentioned, I used star washers on all of these grounds (and coated with a battery terminal spray for protection, and can't be seen from the top).
I ran one from the head to the intake, on the back side. The alternator has another ground, as does the instrument cluster in the center dash (I had to replace the engine wiring harness and the A/C heat harness). Needless to say, I don't think I'm going to have a ground issue anytime soon.
And, I used black wire for all these grounds
