May be a silly question but ??
If the heater control coolant valve is installed in the 5/8 heater (Pressure side) hose running from the top of the intake back into the heater core. Whne the valve in closed doesn't the cause some kind of wicked pressuer build up in the hose and srews up the normal coolant flow

That pump is designed for volume not pressure. There is not much pressure there anyway and once you stop the flow, it just goes around the normal cooling passages. There is no real pressure buildup.
