Does anyone know what the total movement of the distributor shaft should be? I have removed it from the engine but need to know the min. and max travel of the shaft. Need to know to properly shim it to factory specs. Need some help can not find the specs in any of the books i have. Would appreciate the infor. By the way its in a 68-327

Cast iron distributors can be shimmed to .005" - .007. Aluminum body distributors should be shimmed to .010" - .015".
