Rear end drops when i put the car into gear (automatic tranny)
My Corvette's rear end drops, not just half an inch, but more like 2 inches, when i put the car into gear. At first i was thinking it was the shocks , but they have been replaced about 13 or more years ago and they rarely go bad. Maybe its the torque converter? IDK I wonder what the problem is...

Mine does that too. I kind of thought it was normal. Other C3 owners I've talked to say they have the same thing. Like a squatting effect. I hope it's somewhat normal...I'll be interested in what others say.
It does seem more pronounced when I first start the car and the idle is higher. After it warms up it's less noticeable.

yep mine does it to and i was never really concerned with it i always figured it was the power from the engine displacing somewhere once the trans is engaged best way i can think to describe it...

Mine also digs in like a wild animal preparing for attack, and that is how I drive it. I want it to be aggressive, to dig in and spring into action.
If my Avalanche or any other vehicle did this, I would be worried.
