The next thing we did was start working on replacing the windshield frame.
We measured many, many, many, many times from various spots to make sure everything ended up back in the right place when we were done.
We also built a frame work out of 2x4s to make sure while we were hammering away () nothing moved.
hmmm... wonder if water was getting in through here?
Incase you are wondering... Yes some of the windshield frame had been patched with bondo.

Here is the side pillars all cleaned up.
Test fitting the new windshield frame.
All Welded In.
There is still a lot of grinding and a few more holes to fill before the frame is done, but the trim fits, the T-tops fit, the windshield fits, and best of all our measurements came out perfect!
If anyone is interested, here is a picture of the 42 caddy that dad recently purchased. It had been in the family for a number of years, until my uncle sold it with out offering it to dad (even though he knew how much dad loved the car).
The international in the background is our next project.
Thanks for looking,
-Chris

I wouldn't worry about your welding - looks 10x better than the factory welds anyway.
With all the detail you're putting in, it will be one sweet ride.
Care to come over & finish mine?

Long overdue update...
This project is still underway, and I will finish it eventually (hopefully).
The previous owner had mentioned that the body was perfect and "sandpaper has not used when prepping the car for paint".
If he had used sandpaper the fiberglass repairs might have stuck a little better...
Any ideas what these holes might be? I was guessing possibly a ski rack.

The frame was stripped, and sent off to the sandblaster:
The inside was coated using a kit that Eastwood sells for painting the inside of a frame. Once that was done, we primed the frame.
Test Fit some parts:
... And paint!

Suspension
All of the suspension pieces were pulled apart, sandblasted, and primed:
Painted, and test fitted:
We also test fit the Rack & Pinion (We still haven't painted that):
Motor and Trans test fitting:
... And I changed my mind about the front suspension...
... Oh, and also the rear ...

Most parts that needed to be test fit have been installed:
Setting the body on to test for trans clearance:
I really need to stop reading forums, and going to car shows... I changed my mind again...
Transmission Painted:
Rear Suspension Installed:
Front Suspension and motor installed:
After experiencing my 81 Vette with the Hooker side exhaust, dad convinced me that I needed to do the same on this car (it really didn't take much convincing )
Fuel Tank Installed:
Test Fitting the firewall:
Test fitting the body:
I've been working on repairing holes, cracks, dry fiberglass, and stripping the body. I'll try to post another update once I make some progress on that.
Thanks for looking!!
