MaxJax Group Buy
If you’re honey is begging you for a gift idea…here it is! Dannmar has extended the group buy offer that our C6 brethren had in Aug/Sep (see link below). Forum members can order the MaxJax lift for $1800.00 shipped. You may recall we had a discussion on this back in September. Here are the particulars:
Buyer is responsible for offloading the 865 pound crate. This is handy and reasonable if you happen to have a loading dock and forklift (pallet jack?)to offload the crate. Otherwise, here are two other options:
1. Dock Hold: The unit can be delivered to a terminal at no additional cost. Buyer must arrange pickup and transportation to installation site.
2. Liftgate option can be ordered for an additional $135.00. This option permits the truck driver to offload the crate to ground level at your door. Your contact is:

Just sent off an e-mail asking if the offer is open to Canadians. I can see New York state if I jump high enough.
The price is right! Now I get to add shipping, taxes and custom brokerage fees and duty. I will see what the total number is!

Nice. I have been wanting a lift. I just changed jobs back in the summer and have to hold off on big purchases for a while. I will however bookmark their webpage for future reference. Looking forward to seeing everyones impression of them. Post up some pics of your new purchase so we can be green.

I already have one . No complaints with it. It is very portable and I have even lent it to my brother to use in his garage. If you know another car guy that is local to you just split the cost $900 each.

Got mine today. Took me one hour to unpack, move from drive to garage and cleanup. Took it on myself with black lab watchin for any swearin. Used a hand cart and aluminum floor jack to lift weight off shipping bolt that secured column to shipping frame.
Now trying to determine where to set columns to avoid interference with vehicle doors. I'll space it for the C5 between the jack lift points. Any ideas feel free to pass along.

Me too...
I emailed Rudy yesterday who was on vacation at the time, but he
replied and confirmed the $1800 shipped. He asked that I contact Joe
for purchasing assistance.
Did any of you have to pay sales tax ? I am assuming not.
Spacing question: If you have the room why not place the columns
at the 130" spacing that their diagram indicates for large vehicles?
It would give you more room to exit and enter the car. Downside
would be the increase in 'moment' wanting to tip the columns over
because the lift arms would be further extended holding the weight of
the car farther from the column.
I need suggestions on spacing.
I rather not drill more holes for a second location of one column to
adapt for varing vehicle widths.
Epoxy question: I assume you coat the anchor with the epoxy and
then hammer it into the concrete? I am guessing that you would then
need to wrench the bolt into the anchor and spread out the hold down
end while the epoxy is still not set. If not I would think the epoxy
could pool at the bottom and not let the anchor spread out and do
it proper job of grasping onto the bottom of the concrete slab.
Also concerned with the aggregate in the concrete making the drill bit
head off course and not having holes in the proper position. Did any of
you place the column and use the base plate holes to start each place
for the anchor holes?
Thoughts? Other things to watch out for..?
Thanks,
Dave
PS Plan on ordering my Max Jax Monday

I fully extended the arms under my C2 to determine the spacing.

This is what I did.

Without a proper cement footing where those columns bolt to the floor I'd be afraid of the floor not being able to handle the load, it's only a few inches thick. Most garage floors were not designed for this stuff, be careful.

Did you ever find out what it would cost to have it delivered to Canada?
