Default best rear end swap

I just removed the 3.08's from my parts car so now I have a spare and I am thinking of getting 3.55 or 3.70 now that I can send one away and still drive my car while I wait (also 3.08).
My question is where is a good place to swap and get the new ones, or should I get a local shop to change it for me. I am looking for a fair price on a good set up.
Any Ideas.

I've seen some pretty cheap deals on eBay :D
...or you can get a shop to change out the gears.
Carriers are different for a 3:08 & 3:70 (not sure about the 3:55)... so you'll need to order a 'thickened' ring gear to make it work with a 'higher' ratio. :)

What is different about the carrier.
and also I thought that you needed a new ring and pinion gear any way
I have seen pin and ring gears sold from summit and I thought that was all I need assuming I get a shop to change them out.

The carrier is the same for 3.08 and 3.70. Its a series 3 and is good up to 3.90. Series 4 for anything higher unless you use a spacer. You're not probably interested in it but I have a near new 4:11 set with a spacer and the proper bolts. I live just down the way from you on Gabriola.
