Default another power window post

Ok, I have been working on this all day and I think I'm in a bind. Maybe literally.

So I just bought this 1980 corvette, I have receipts from the previous owner for new window regulators and new window motors. The Regulators look new and well greased up, however the windows will not function. I tested the switches and am getting power to the motors it seems. When I hit the switch I hear a click from the motor but nothing happens. I'm thinking either the motors, which are new, are bad or it is binding up somehow.

Now, I think I need to remove the motors, but I've read something about rolling the windows down and placing a bolt somewhere or I will get hurt.

How am I to do this if I can't roll the windows down?

PLEASE! I need a little help, I've done searches on here, but no where have I found a good way to remove the motor/regulator without "getting hurt?"

Thanks guys!

Also, I tested the motor by placing a wire from the + side of the Battery to each of the wires. I'm assuming the motors ground themselves somehow through the door? This seems a bit odd to me..

I put 2 rubber tipped clamps on the glass in the up position and then remove the motor.
This keeps the window from coming down.

If there is too much flex in the inner door panel or the lower mount on the regulator is broken or not attached the motors can bind

i just currently replaced the passenger window motor-my window was all the way up and all i did was unbolt the pw motor(3 bolts). i have another issue as i am only getting power to the "up" connector and have to retrace my wires.

It's either a mechanical problem (regulators, tracks, etc) or electrical.

Electrical:
Have you tested for 12v to the motors?
If good, remove the motors and bench test.

Mechanical:
With the motor(s) out, are you able to move the glass by up and down by hand without any binding?
