Default Pullin an Engine?

Have any of you guys ever pulled an engine without removing the hood?
It looks like it will clear. I'm thinking of just comin' out the side with it.

Yes I have done it countless times. You can only pull the engine. The trans will need to be disconnected. Take off the front pulleys and you will clear no problem. I have even left the radiator in on some cases. Not recommended though as the radiator can be damaged easily.

Guess ya can! It's out.
I'm the only one home or I would've had my wife help me. Like I said, I only have two hands.
I will pull the hood off when I clean up under there. I just need the motor and trans out today while I have the time.

Yes, you can do it.
Remove the passenger front tire, jack up the Vette carefully, slide it in and out sideways.

I've removed and installed the hood myself before. It wasn't that hard.

I also removed the hood alone before, you just have to use a lot of masking tape around the edges to save the paint.

Guess it's possible to pull a motor with the hood on, but really enjoy the job far better with the hood removed. I alway's spread plenty of terri bath towel's around, and shoot a couple small drill screw's in the hinges for easy re-alignment. Usually more terri towel's and cardboard on the roof to store the hood while working.

I always leave the hood on and pull it out the side. To me its easier that way.
