When I see one of these Hoods I think of Corvette History and a John Greenwood Twin Turbo all Aluminum Big Block going down the Musanne Straight at Lemans at over 200 MPH. I never thought of what Fashon He was wearing at the time.

Ya know what? I apologize.
Not really necessary but appreciated none the less, you caught me on a bad day.
Normally I have more of a sense of humor.
We can be internet forum buddies again if you like

Talk about pimpin', you should have seen my last project car;
a 1971 Cadillac Coupe DeVille. Almost 21' of pimpy-ness.
The cops didn't like it though, I've been pulled over like 33 times in 2 years. Talk about profiling....

I don't think the hood is tacky but it does change the nice flowing lines these C3's usually have.
But hey, I'm working on a budget here.
Still, that car looks better than most of the housewifes of Orange County, talk about tacky.
If I had real money I would have kept the caddy, caged it and ran the salt flats with a turbo charged 500 cubic inch .
That was the original plan, become a member of the 200 mph club in my ghetto cruiser.

Oh, man! If I had that Caddy, I would DEFINITELY get a big purple hat with a great big, long feather sticking out of it!!!! I'd keep it in the car and wear it EVERY time I drove the car!!! I'm not kidding around, 100% serious, I would be doing it with a sense of irony, tho.

I suppose a twin turbo hood might not be too bad, if ya don't get carried away with the whole thing. I guess I am just a little conservative. Actually, I have been looking for 3 years for some sort of body kit, or spoiler, or whatnot, to change or add to my 1980 'vette, and I haven't found anything that would make it look better. I guess it's just perfect the way it is.

Well I'm not the gaudy Gucci type either.
The Daytona wing I have came with the car and looks like it may have been a dealer option but I'm not sure. I've always like the look of the TT hood and it took me 2 years to find one.
Also like it for it's historical significance, it was used for racing after all. Unlike some of these 1 foot tall hoods you see around.
Anyways wait till the paint is ready in about 2 years or so......

Imo-It would be interesting to see how close the color matches after a few hours of compounding and waxing (if you don't think you'd burn through, that is).

Scottyp99-PLEASE lets see a pic of your gem. I'll start, here's mine. Knock yourself out.

Delightfully tacky, yet unrefined, but I like eating at Hooters too.

Callin' me out, eh? OK, OK, I'll post a pic or two, might take me awhile, and be prepared for a plain jane 'vette. It's a little rough around the edges, but ya can't really tell from 20 feet away, so that's how far the pics will be taken from.

I thought about getting a bigger wing initially:

or maybe making it into a station wagon:

I'm not sure if mine looks agressive enough, maybe I need to spice it up a little....

Late at night your driving down the highway.............

on cruise control in the soccer mom hybrid your wife made you buy......

...70 mph......when all of a sudden............

Imo passes you in an all blacked out neon running lights flame throwing....

MONSTER........

Obviously I like the first one, but the best part is judging from the passenger, it's being driven. HARD. Wagons aren't my taste, but are a part of the Corvette heritage from the begining (Google GM Motorama Showcars). Last one, not so much (Unless you mounted that body on a 4 wheel drive chassis, THEN you could have some fun). /:\

What's right underneath the front openings, I have a TPI setup that would love the cold air from those ducts

I had a NACA twin turbo hood on my 70 LT1 Roller Cam Vette...
used it to ram cool air..... and get rid of engine bay heat....

(had the same ecklers rear spoiler too) (1981 charcoal grey paint)

i was unbeaten in any race....

anyone who ridicules another one's idea/dream needs 'mental help'.....

Welcome to the forum, guess you didn't race too much, there is always someone faster...

Did you notice how old this thread is, While custom is my thing this thread is too old for me to start spewing

But if people bashing slamming, trashing , belittling, etc etc etc another persons build or ideas/ dreams upsets you, you might want to scroll through c3 "general" and look at all the cars posted there just to be negative about...that's how the forum is,

However,
There are a lot of really cool cats here who have not forgotten the camaraderie, we might not like every build and that's okay we don't have to trash it either, lots of fun car talk here, I for one would LOVE to see pics of your modded 70, sounds super cool....

why not go start a thread in general with pics of your car....
