I have placed several papers at Corvettefaq.com that should be very helpful with information on the Saginaw model P power steering pump. This pump was used from 1963 through 1982 on the Corvette.
The good news is that this same pump (with minor updates) is still being manufactured today. The P-Pump Parts Repair and Replace paper outlines where to get parts and components.
There are also several papers which should help in diagnosing leaks and also blowup pump pictures.
