Default Door light switches

How many switches should there be? I have two by the door hinge, the lower one does the interior light, I think the top one was from a pager alarm system from the 80s . I think i got it at a vette show that was sponsored by Vette Vues magazine. Pretty cool for its time, 300 foot range silent pager if the alarm went off.

What does the one at the other end of the door do, i haven't looked in the aim yet.

I have found a nice place to hide alarm switches.

Well the aim says that the one by the door hing is anti-theft hood and courtesy light, the one at the back of the door pillar is courtesy lamp and door ajar switch.

I have looked for the switch for the hood and cannot find it, I think i need the ign on or engine running for the door pillar one to activate, will check it out.

The one in the door jamb is the courtesy light and door key buzzer.
The one at the back of the door is door ajar and alarm system.
Not sure what the 2nd one is in the jamb but its not factory.

I did a double take but I'm pretty sure the factory never installed a second one, although it might have made troubleshooting a bit easier.

Hi Alan 71, When i won the contest they sent me to a corvette place up in northern Illinois. They did lots of custom stuff, greenwood flares, wagon kits, hatch backs etc, they also did alarms and stereos.

I believe they installed the second button switch because they are of different types. They wanted it on a separate system. It does look like a factory job tho.

Checked it out with the ign on and everything works as expected.
