That engine can easily handle a 650+ cfm carb...

650 cfm carb or put a [self-regulating] Quadra-Jet on it.

it depends on the type of transmission and what mods have been done to the car. and how the car is driven. that said, I'm not a fan of edelbrock carburetors.

If you're considering the old Carter AFB design carb, it is really a pretty rudimentary design, compared to the Q-Jet...and even Holleys. It is functional, and certainly available; but it's not really a great choice for a carb.

Hello Guys
thanks for the information
the Vett is 69 with 350 / 350 and 4 speed manual and a 4,11 rear end
so i have a big hole when i go to full power and the choke don't work so i think i will change the carburetor
to a new one
because the last owner fix a Edelbrock Performer Intakt on the Vett
i think take the same parts will work together but when you think some other carburetor work better
i am for all open
thanks a lot
Jochen

a performer manifold is not helping you much. a performer r.p.m is a better choice. for carburator i would say at least a 650 Holley preferably a double Pumper due you your transmission and gearing. a 3310 Holley is another good choice it is vacuum secondary and a nice driveable unit.

Sounds like a perfect car for a Qjet.

where exactly does one find a brand new in the box quadrajet? one that will run properly and has not been " tinkered" with by a backyard " expert" . oh wait, nobody makes them anymore.

No need for a new one, there's enough suitable cores around to last a hundred years. They're not hard to find, just push the huge piles of junked Edelbrock and Holly carbs aside and there they are!

It's pretty rare to see a carb so badly worn that it's not repairable/rebuildable and a shame that so many people toss them.
