My oil drain plug faces rearward so with that set-up you may not be able to put the drain hose on ???

when you screw the brass fitting into the drain hole, it sticks out about 5/8" and there is a brass cap that screws onto it and thats what you screw off to screw the hose on to...it has a valve in it kinda like a big tire stem valve so no oil comes out until you screw the hose on (IT pushes in the valve)...no mess...unscrew the hose and the oil stops flowing (dripping)

I found this on the site. I'd really like to try it. I think it's a great idea. I have yet to change my oil and not end up with a mess.

Proprietary SureDRAIN Valve - this unique, heavy duty
Actuator Valve is precision engineered to permanently replace
your existing oil drain plug and allow instant oil access and
draining.

Twist on Drain Hose - Designed for fast, easy, twist on
operation, the heavy duty FRAM drain hose starts the flow of
oil directly into your receptacle with the turn of your wrist.

Added Protection Dust Cover - To keep the SureDRAIN
valve free from road dirt and safe from undercarriage debris, the
ultra-rugged SureDRAIN dust cover locks firmly into place until
the next oil change. Like all SureDRAIN parts, this dust cover
has been tested against leaks, corrosion, vibration and road
damage.

Seems like a pain, now you have a hose to clean off when you're done. Removing the filter is still going to make a big mess.

It's great!!! Here's how it works. You remove and dump out your old drain plug and put this special Fram drain plug in place. That's it!!! Whenever you change out the oil, you screw in this hose and it automaticallly opens up the valve in this special drain plug and starts the flow of oil. When you're done, simply remove the hose by hand and place the cap on the drain plug to prevent dust from getting on the plug. Real simple, leak free, the best!! No tools required after installing this small marvel!!

Because of the low ground clearance on most Corvettes, I would shy away from adding this to the bottom of my oil pan. And you will still have the mess of removeing the oil Filter anyway.

My concern would be the reduced diameter of the valve would leave oil in the engine, dirty, icky nasty oil:U

And like it's that big a deal to undo the drain plug anyway?
The worst part is jacking up the darn car to get under it...
