Default Zinc additive replacement for motor oil

Anyone have any actual experience with this product? It is supposedly a replacement for zinc additive for engine oil.

I put a bottle of it in my '69 awhile back, ~ a thousand miles ago. So far nothing bad has happened. I have a fairly mild cam with gentle ramps, so not too worried - maybe I should be. Oil is Mobil 1 10/30.

What I would like to know is, can you run your favorite oil as long as you use some zink additive like Comp Cams break in oil additive and do you have to run the stuff at every oil change or just the beginning?

This Polymer Ester formula is opening a new can of worms. I have read a little about it and from what I can decipher is that it is good. This whole oil thing is about to have a new angle to it with this stuff.

Any way to relate what I know from fact is my friend owns an engine building shop. Mainly high performance and he even does marine engines for the 2 and 3 engine ultra expensive boats.

When this whole wiped cam thing started a few years back he was in a world of hurt. He lost allot of money, he now puts Brad Pen oil in all his builds and has never had a problem since.

Yes, you have to run it all the time with a flat tappet cam. The newer oil formulations do not provide proper lubrication for non-roller engines.

God bless, Sensei
